Alfredo is just the name of a sauce that can be put on any kind of pasta. There is Fettuccini Alfredo and Alfredo Linguini and Angel Hair Pasta Alfredo. The pasta is defined by the sauce, which is why I am only going to tell you how to make the homemade sauce. Choose whatever you like from the various kinds of pasta.
It is commonly believed that this sauce has way too much fat. Then again, other studies say that cream and butter are good for you— occasionally. Butter has special fats in it that break down the bad cholesterol or something. Add a littlewine to the meal and it’s all good. Seriously, if you are really worried about the fat content in Alfredo sauce, you can also try making it with ghee, which is clarified butter and really simple to make yourself. There’s a short video at the end of this post that explains the benefits and how to make it.
I also want to just add that grilled chicken is awesome with pasta and this sauce. Roasted broccoli and tomatoes were created to go in this pasta mixture as well. Additionally, if you add a little bacon grease to your sauce and serve the sauce with bacon, it is called Alfredo Carbonara. Many delicious things, many HEALTHY things can be hidden in your children’s meals when it is covered with Alfredo sauce. Did I mention how easy it is? Once you’ve made your own, you’ll never eat it from a jar or a powder packet again.
